Home Calendar About Garden of Hope Dress to Impress Sexual Assault Kitchen Table Cable Program

Please note: Due to the severe weather forecast for October 28th, 2006, work at the Garden of Hope was postponed indefinitely. We thank everyone who has volunteered and helped in the planning.  Work will resume as early as possible in the spring. Please check the Calendar for details about our spring 2007 schedule.

Garden of Hope 2007

Due to construction at Head Start, additional work on the Garden of Hope must be postponed until the Spring of 2008.

We cordially invite the entire community to help us celebrate a Gift of Hope by moving on to Phase III of the landscaping beautification project at Triumph Head Start in Taunton, MA.  Phase I began on 2004's Make a Difference Day with the planting of 1400 spring bulbs. Phase II's work went on throughout 2005 & 2006.  Everyone is welcome but we would love to have some landscaping specialists to guide us.

These pictures are from 2004 and show the bulbs spread out for planting (on a very cold and drizzly day!) and volunteers helping prepare the soil.

Is your family, business, church group, school, organization, etc. interested in "adopting" a shrub, contributing landscape materials, labor, a section to clean up?  We challenge you to sign up, let us know what your contribution will be and, if possible, come dressed with some identifying element (company tee-shirts, special hats, team shirts...be creative!).  What we need the most for this year is enough brooms, rakes, clippers, weed-whackers, saws, etc. to continue clearing the brush & lower branches from the wooded area around the garden as well as along the road.  Let's make a difference and have fun doing it!

A secondary aspect of A Gift of Hope for All Ages will be to collect as many used cell phones as possible during Make a Difference Day to give to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine Fund.  The Hopeline Fund supports both direct service providers and grassroots groups who are dedicated to domestic violence awareness. Buckets will be on site for phone drop off.
