The Domestic Violence/Violence Prevention Kitchen Table Workshop Series
The Domestic Violence/Violence Prevention Kitchen Table Workshop Series (KTWS) is in early development. Please check back soon for the complete schedule and programs. These workshops are for the general public. All ages are welcome.
All Kitchen Table Workshop Series events will be filmed and edited into Voices of Hope Taunton Community Access programs for viewing on Channel 15.
Workshop#1 was presented by Milly Burrows (LICSW, CEIS), Family Partnerships and Mental Health Manager at Associates for Human Services (AHS). Domestic Violence is not just something that happens between two adults. Children are also significantly affected. In light of medical and scientific advances that allow us to better examine brain activity we are now beginning to understand the influences of prenatal exposure to violence. This workshop will explore the effects of the trauma of domestic violence on the developing brain and its impact on children’s social emotional health. It will include the videotape “Breaking Peaces” which illustrates the unborn child’s perspective. Discussion will follow.
Workshop#2 - Domestic Violence: There Are Solutions - Voices of Hope DATE: Monday, September 24, 2007, 5:45 (light refreshments). 6:00 - 7:30 PM, Workshop LOCATION: First Parish Church of Taunton, Church Green, across from Taunton City Hall
